Celebrate the festival of lights with Best Buy’s Diwali e-Gift Card! @BestBuy #bbydiwaligiftcards #ad

Diwali is one of the biggest festival of Hindus, celebrated with great enthusiasm and happiness in India.  It celebrates the triumph of inner light dispelling spiritual darkness or ignorance, right over wrong and good over evil.

Diwali is also known as Deepavali, the "deep" meaning "light" or "lamp", and "avali" meaning "row". This "row of lights"  is represented by lighting lamps everywhere during Diwali. With more understanding of Indian culture and global migration of people of Indian origin, the number of countries where Diwali is celebrated has been gradually increasing.

When I think of Diwali, it reminds me of colorful fireworks,  lighting of small clay lamps called "diyas", wearing new clothes, cleaning/decorating our home and sharing variety of sweets with family and friends. On this auspicious day, people perform Laxmi Puja in the evening and seek divine blessings of Goddess of Wealth.

The festival of Diwali is never complete without exchange of gifts. I am so excited that Best Buy is embracing this important event and making it easy to gift Diwali themed gift card to family rather than generic ones . Its really amazing to see  Best Buy supports events which they believe are of importance to their employees, customers, and communities.

This upcoming year, Diwali falls on Nov. 11, 2015 of our Gregorian calendar.  Best Buy would like to celebrate this festival with a special Diwali e-Gift Card that will be available online through Nov. 15 at www.bestbuy.com/egiftcard under the “Occasions” tab.

Wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous Diwali.
